Key Scripture Joshua 7 & 8.1-35

There is something that requires you to be alert with God.

When you come out of a storm, prepare yourself for another.

Sin chokes the channels God uses. Dealing with sin unblocks the channel.

1. Victory is promised.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God [is] with you wherever you go."

God is reminding them of the basis of their victory.

No storms lasts forever. Psalms 37:23 The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.

2. Victory is pursued.

God always has a plan. Ask him to give you the strategy to go forth.

Listen and heed to the instructions given.

He is the God of second chances.

3. Victory preserved.

Key Scripture: Genesis 8.22

As long as the earth exist, we are assured there will be planting and harvest; winter and summer, cold and heat; night and day.

As long as we live, times and seasons will exist. It is for us to position ourselves and be anchored in Christ Jesus.

Times and seasons are inevitable

The times of one seasons affect one's behavior and outcome in the next season.

Therefore be careful how you walk because the days are evil. Be wise, humble, and make the best of every opportunity.

{Genesis 41.1-36}

Times shall surely happen to us. We need to be careful what we do during times of prosperity and times of famine.

Make use of every opportunity! There is something we can always do to carry us through the disadvantaged times. SAVE!

Key Scripture; Isa 43.2 ; 2 Pet 1.12-13

Resilience is the ability of an object to return to form after it has been bent, stretched or compressed.

Surprises are the new normal, resilience is the new skill.

ABC of building resilience;

1. Adapt better to life changing events

2. Bounce back from hardship and tragedy

3. Cope with turbulent times present and in the future.

Key factors in resilience;

Healthy relationships

Ability to create and execute realistic plans for the future.

Ability to have healthy self confidence.

Find positives in difficult situations.

Challenges of resilience

a. The learning process requires something difficult to happen to us.

b. Choose to overcome the setback. You may lose your focus in a storm. { 2 Kings 4.1-8}

Whatever you may consider as nothing or a ser down, God can use it to make a difference in/for you. {Ruth 4.15-17}

The anointing you honor will serve and cover you in time of storms.

How to develop resilience;

1. Decide to Faith forward.

2. Commit to growth.

3. Recognize the importance of adding value to others.

4. Find strength beyond yourself.

Storm is a violent disturbance of the atmosphere.

Life is made of storms; you are either in a storm, getting into one or getting out of one.

Storms of life could be caused by;

1. You might be irresponsible & causing conflict with those around you.

2. The devil working {Job 1}

3. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

God could also allow or ignite storms for the purpose of;

a. Getting your attention. Losing focus on God and shifting it towards anything else invokes His jealousy. {Ex 20.5}

b. To get you to deal with a sin in your life.

c. You could be having your grip firmly on something you think is the best for your life.

d. He wants you and I to get conformed to His image and likeness and not with it's ideologies. {Rom 8.29; 12.2, 2 Cor 3.8}

e. God wants to equip you to serve Him. {Is 48.10 ; 1.25}

Remember:

1. God is omnipresent, He is always present in the storm. { Gen 27.28 ; 16 , Matthew 8.26}

2. God loves you and He always does. { Jn 3.16, Jer 29.11}

3. A storm could make or destroy you. It all depends on your response. {Eph 6.10-14}

Put on the armor of God, guard your attitude, conduct and words of your mouth.

{Psalms 141.3}

The Lord will protect the vision and purpose of your life.

At the appointed time, He shall do as promised over your life.

Key Scripture; Mark 4.37

When a storm is coming it has no warning, it just appears.

Sometimes we lose faith in a storm because we may be afraid and frightened.

What to do when weathering the storms of life

1. When trouble is headed your way always do what Jesus did.

During the storm, Jesus rested. {Mrk 4.38}

Get your attention to God and see what He is doing. {Mt 6.34}

2. Get to believe God cannot tell us to do anything dangerous without a way of escape.

Mrk 4.35 ; Acts 2.23 ; 1 Cor 10.13 ; Num 11.19-20 ; Rom 4.20.

He knows that you can handle different challenges.

In a storm, God is not weak. He is still strong to help you get through it. {Ps 68.28}

3. God is not moved by the adversities we face, and neither should we be.

4. When in the midst of storms of life, call on Him and quote His word.

Ps 86.7 Every time I'm in trouble I call on you, confident that you'll answer.

Mt 22.29

5. When you rely on the word, all your fears will leave.

6. When facing the storms of life, tell your circumstances and those in your boat to be still.

{Mrk 4.39}

Jesus spoke to the storm and He commanded it to calm.

7. Always be willing to learn in every situation.

1. Mountain is a permanent picture in your life.

2. Conditions that obstruct and hinder your progress in life.

Faith is not the positive thinking but Faith carries the power to bring change and transformation.

By faith we are saved, overcome situations and justified in Christ.

Our eternity is by faith.

There is so much more in the realm of Faith that you cannot see in the natural.

Faith makes what is hoped for look real, aligning your mind, body and soul.

Faith constraints and compacts time. It is based on power, promise and provision.

• How to release faith;

1. Speak to the mountain.

2. Command the mountain boldly.

3. Speak solution to the mountain.

4. Do not doubt in your heart. Depend on His generosity for He is not limited.

5. Expect what say to come to pass.

6. Trust God's divine power and purpose.

Key Scripture; Jeremiah 1.1-9

Every believer has a calling in their life, a call to serve in the Kingdom of God.

The call of God upon Jeremiah was ordained to him even before he was born.

He was formed according to the purpose to which he was called for.

We have been formed for the assignment that God has given unto us and we ought not to be afraid when God calls us to His work.

The hand of the lord will enable you to fulfill your calling.

You have been sanctified and set apart for the work of God.

The Church (you and i) has been called to be a positive influence/ impact to the universe

• There will be discouragements, frustrations ,rejections in fulfilling the call of God but we are assured of the Lord always protecting and guiding us.

• In all this, we must fulfill our call. God has provided sufficient grace and in it His power has been made manifest in our weaknesses.

Note;

1. It is God who calls. He uses His servants to confirm what He has already done. (Eph 4.11-12)

2. As a youth, you are not too young to accept the call of God.

3. The calling is a journey and not a destination.

4. Align yourself in God's will through prayer.

5. Study the word of God, seek wise counsel and serve God in your walk.

Mark 8:22-26 The story of Jesus healing a blind man at Bethsaida.

Setting of the City

*Bethsaida was a remote village where people had very weird remedies for disease. Jesus' coming to Bethsaida, and healing people, was truly light coming to the dark.

*The people were skeptic about faith and asked for sign after sign. Lessons

~1. Do not give up hope and stay in Jesus...and they begged Jesus to touch him. Believe in Jesus even if you are riding on the faith of other believers! 2 Cor 12:9...God's Grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

~2. Jesus is interested in building our faith.  ...Jesus took the man by the hand and let him outside. Jesus wanted to spend time with this man. As Christmas, we have things that we can only share with God alone as we walk with Him for our healing.

~3. Jesus is interested in our wellbeing. ...And when He had spat on him. The warmth of the saliva was soothing to him. Saliva signified the compassion of Jesus. When we were nothing, Jesus looked at us, had compassion on us, and wanted to be with us. Now we are Children of God. If we desire to walk with God, all we have to do is open our mouth wide and He will fill us Psalms 81:10. - This miracle is recommended in stages so that He could build this man's faith. Things to remember!

1. Jesus desires to take us to a place of solitude so that we can experience Him fully.

2. Jesus knows our hurts and needs to take us to a place of redemption.

3. God fills the water pots to the brim but not beyond the brim. According to our faith, shall it be done to us.
